Processing difficulty and straightening process of stainless steel piston rod

Jun 06, 2022

Due to the poor rigidity of the stainless steel piston rod, in the process of machining, due to the influence of various factors such as the bed and the tool business, the workpiece is easy to produce, bending waist drum, polygon, sugar paste reed and other defects, especially in the grinding process. Generally, the size is poor, and the surface roughness is required to be high. Because the workpiece generally requires heat treatment such as flame quenching and tempering during grinding, the cutting heat during grinding is more likely to cause workpiece deformation and so on.

For the deformed stainless steel piston rod, it needs to be straightened. Before straightening, measure the data first, put the lead screw on the block, and draw a circle with a pen; use the dial indicator to measure the head in the middle of the small grid to slowly rotate the lead screw , find the high point, and use the high point as the zero point of the dial indicator.

Continue to turn the screw to find the low point, mark it with a pen, and record the dial indicator reading. Use this method to measure the data for each cell and record the value.

The straightening of the stainless steel piston rod must start from the middle, hold one end of the lead screw with your hand, make the low point of the lead screw upward, press down gently, and tap the outside of the small grid with a copper hand hammer. The hammering should be light and do not leave hammer marks on the surface. Then move the block under the other cell and repeat the above action. Do not hit hard on the curved part, but hit it a few times. After all the small grids are beaten, check the straightening result. If the lead screw has a large curvature, it can be straightened several times until it meets the requirements.
